On July 1st, 2019 new tobacco legislation will come into effect in the Commonwealth of Virginia which will prohibit the sale of tobacco and tobacco products to anyone under the age of 21, excluding military personal aged 18+ This new law will prohibit the sale to and use of tobacco, nicotine, vape, and e-cigarette products, including our beloved cigars!

In response to this new legislation, local cigar and tobacco shop William Alexander Tobacconist of Lynchburg, VA has stated “It’s an unfortunate overstep into the premium cigar industry that is beginning to sweep the nation, state by state…” and has in turn decided to throw a Prohibition Cigar and Pipe party on June 30th, 2019 – according to William Alexander’s website, they are planning to run the event all the way till midnight and offer some amazing specials on cigars so that you can stock up your humidor!

The event will also include food, a popcorn machine, prizes to be raffled off and will feature a prohibition period movie. Attendees are encouraged to bring a side dish to share with other attendees for a potluck style event.
