Colonel EH Taylor Small Batch is a whiskey produced at the Buffalo Trace distillery. The name is not chosen at random, it is a tribute to the founding father of the bourbon industry, namely Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. Immediately after the end of the civil war, purchased the OFC distillery, developing new techniques for the bourbon production.

TASTING NOTES COLONEL E.H. TAYLOR SMALL BATCH

Nose

Once poured into the glass, intense notes of spices, white pepper and vanilla, followed by nutmeg and a touch of balsamic herbs, where menthol stands out, reach the nose.

Palate

Sweet and enveloping. Notes of wood, white pepper and caramel are perceptible. Then cocoa and nuts. It is oily on the palate.

Finish

medium-long finish. It develops notes of white pepper and cocoa.

Overall, the Colonel EH Taylor Small Batch is a bourbon that is a little shy on the nose, but which shines on the palate, releasing balanced flavor profile. The bouquet is not particularly large, as is the case in other bottlings of the brand.
